RAJOURI/POONCH, Sept 30: The police seized two vehicles along with eight bovine animals and arrested five persons in this connection
A police spokesman from Poonch said that a police naka party led by SHO Surankote, under the supervision of SP Poonch, intercepted a Tata Mobile vehicle bearing registration No. JK02V/804 last evening at Behramgalla in Surankote and found four bovine animals being smuggled to Kashmir via Mughal Road. The police party seized the vehicle and rescued the animals. Three alleged smugglers were arrested in this connection.
They have been identified as Naseem, son of Nazir Hussain, resident of Draba, Mohd Shafi, son of Jumma, resident of Chandimar and Mohd Farooq resident of Galuta in Manjakote. A case was registered against them.
Another report from Rajouri said that police party led by SHO Sunderbani Devinder Katoch intercepted a Tata Mobile vehicle No. JK02AW/3864 near Katanu village today morning and rescued four bovine animals. Two persons were arrested in this connection. They were identified as Gharu Ram and Ashok Singh of Pallanwalla in Akhnoor. They were booked by police. The animals were rescued by police.
