NURPUR (HIMACHAL PRADESH), May 3: At least 28 people were injured when a private bus overturned after the driver experience sudden chest pain and lost control of the vehicle in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh today, police said.
The driver was among those injured. The accident occurred around 11 am on the Pathankot-Mandi National Highway in the Nurpur sub-division, when the bus was going to Una from Chamba.

According to preliminary information, the driver experienced sudden chest pain, causing him to lose control of the bus. Locals rushed to the spot and helped rescue the injured.
Four critically-injured persons — Manjeet Singh (the driver), Pihu (11), Sangeeta Devi (43) and Nitika (24) — have been referred to the Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda, in Kangra district for advanced treatment, police said.
Preliminary reports suggest that the driver suffered a sudden heart attack and the bus went out of control. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
The other injured persons have been identified as Amit Kumar (26), Usha Rani (68), Bhavna Devi (27), Jyoti Dogra (45), Nirmala Kumari (35), Shavinder Singh (47), Sharveen (28), Raghuveer Singh (45), Sanjeev Kumar (34), Nitin Kumar (7), Bovi Kumar (36), Jeevan Singh (43), Guddo Devi (55), Pinki Devi (32), Kumari Manvi (8), Siya (2), Shiv Kumar (38), Piyushika (19), Kanika (24), Milap Chand (3), Nancy (18), Ajesh Kumar (49), Nirmala Devi (31) and Praveen Kumar (28).
