*4 labourers among 6 held

JAMMU, June 17: Sidhra police seized 708 bags of adulterated cement and sealed a godown and arrested six persons including four labourers.
As per police sources, on specific information about supply of adulterated cement in the bags of the reputed companies, police team led by SDPO Nagrota Bharat Bhushan Sharma along with Incharge police post Sidhra Javed Choudhary under the supervision of Incharge SSP Jammu Rajive Pandey laid a naka and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02AD-7620.
During checking, police recovered 260 bags of adulterated cement filled in the bags of the reputed companies.
Police team seized the truck and arrested two persons namely Suresh Kumar (driver), son of Rattan Lal of Akhnoor and Farooq Ahmed, son of Abdul Salim of district Poonch.
The truck carrying adulterated cement bags was on its way to deliver the consignment in Poonch district. The adulterated cement was packed in the bags of reputed companies so as to befool the gullible people of the mountainous belts of the State.
Working further over the leads, police team conducted a raid in a godown at Sidhra owned by Mohammad Hanief, son of Mohammad Ismail of Ragoora and seized 448 bags of adulterated cement.
Four labourers identified as Yogesh, son of Ashok Singh, Amit, son of Motush, Dharminder, son of Ram Dev and Shanker, son of Dinu, all resident of Bihar, at present Trikuta Nagar were arrested on the spot and hunt has been launched to nab the owner of the godown, who escaped from the spot on seeing police team.
A case under FIR Number 120/15 under Section 420 and 120-B RPC has been registered at Sidhra police post and investigation started.
