JAMMU, June 17: Singh Cricket Club (SCC), Akhnoor registered 48 runs win over KCC and registered berth into the next stage of the ongoing Summer Cup Akhnoor Twenty20 Cricket Tournament, organised by Singh Cricket Club at Government Higher Secondary School ground, Akhnoor today.
Earlier, batting first, SCC set a target of 216 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Sunil Govil played a splendid inning of 85 runs in 44 balls, whereas Manik Sharma also made 56 runs in 36 balls. Rahul contributed with 13 runs.
From KCC side, Ashok was the pick of the bowlers with 4 wickets, whereas Kamal, Tajinder and Sohan scalped 1 wicket each.
In the second inning, KCC failed to chase the target and were bundled out at 168 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in allotted 20 overs. Kuljit played well and scored 83 runs, Tajinder and Ashok made 39 and 13 runs respectively.
For SCC side, Dilawar Singh and Sunil Govil scalped 2 wickets each, whereas Sunny and Chandan took 1 wicket each.
For his match winning innings, Sunil Govil of SCC was declared as man of the match.
The match was officiated by Vikas Bali and Rajinder Sharma as umpires whileas Ajay Bhagat and Rajesh Sharma acted as scorers.
The next match of the tournament will be played on June 19 between Street Warriors Akhnoor and Sai Rising Stars Sunderbani.
This tournament is being held under the overall supervision of Sham Singh Langeh, President, Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor.
