Srinagar, Nov 15: Seven people died due to COVID in Kashmir today taking the last two days death toll in Jammu and Kashmir to 17 and overall death toll to 1591 while 271 tested positive for Coronavirus in Valley taking the total number of positive cases in J&K to 102619.
Five of those who passed away today were from Srinagar and one each from Budgam and Ganderbal districts.
A 61-year-old from Shalimar Srinagar died a fortnight after being admitted to SKIMS Bemina.
A 70-year-old woman from Bemina Srinagar also died at the same hospital, four days after being admitted there.
A 75-year-old woman from Draigam Budgam died three days after being admitted with bilateral Community Acquired Pneumonia at SMHS hospital on November 12.
A 70-year-old woman from Lal Bazar died two days after admitted to Chest Diseases Hospital in Srinagar.
Three other persons died at SKIMS Soura hospital and include a 55-year-old woman from Lalbazar who succumbed to the virus 12 days after being admitted to the hospital; a 62-year-old man from Khrew Pulwama who was admitted on November 8 and a 50-year-old man from Kachan Ganderbal who died a week after he was admitted.
Srinagar district with 396 deaths topped the list followed by Baramulla 157, Budgam 97, Pulwama 84, Kupwara 78, Anantnag 75, Kulgam 48, Bandipora 48, Shopian 36 and Ganderbal 37.
And 271 people tested positive for coronavirus in Valley today taking the total number of positive cases in J&K to 102619.
Srinagar today reported 120 cases, Baramulla 51, Budgam 29, Pulwama 18, Kupwara 2, Anantnag 14, Bandipora 11, Ganderbal 20, Kulgam 3 and Shopian.
With these fresh cases, Srinagar has 21426 positive cases with 1561 active, 19469 recovered, 396 deaths; Baramulla has 6910 positive cases with 672 active, 6081 recovered, 157deaths; Pulwama reported 4858 positive cases with 123 active cases, 4651 recovered, 84 deaths; Kulgam has 2549 positive cases with 77 active, 2424 recoveries, 48 deaths; Shopian has 2282 positive cases with 88 active, 2158 recovered and 36 deaths; Anantnag district has 4431 positive cases with 217 active, 4139 recovered, 75 deaths; Budgam has 6457 positive cases with 302 active and 6059 recovered, 96 deaths; Kupwara has 4810 positive cases with 452 active, 4280 recovered, 78 deaths; Bandipora has 4235 positive cases with 174 active, 4013 recovered, 48 deaths and Ganderbal has 3941 positive cases with 329 active cases, 3576 recoveries and 36 deaths.
And out of 102619 positive cases, 5688 are active, 95342 have recovered and 1589 have died including 1054 in Kashmir division.
Further, 491 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals today including 329 from Kashmir valley.
