7 bovine animals rescued

UDHAMPUR, Aug 10: Police foiled a bovine smuggling bid under the jurisdiction of Police Station Chenani and rescued seven animals.
The bovines were being smuggled in a vehicle to Kashmir valley. Police patrolling party of PS Chenani, headed by SHO, Insp Om Parkash intercepted the vehicle (JK14F-2945) near Danas Pattangarh.
Sensing trouble, driver fled the scene leaving behind the vehicle on road. On physical checking of the said vehicle, police team found seven bovines loaded in it in a very cruel manner. The police team seized the vehicle and rescued all the bovines.
In this connection, case FIR under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Chenani and further investigation of the case is in progress.
