7 arrested with Rs 2,24,240 stake money, playing cards

JAMMU, Apr 5: Peer Mitha police arrested seven gamblers along with Rs 2,24,240 stake money and playing cards.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Peer Mitha Police Station conducted raid in the basement of Piyush Ayurvedic Burn Centre Lakhdatta Bazaar and arrested seven gamblers with Rs 2,24,240 stake money and playing cards.
The arrested persons were identified as Sanjay Kumar, son of Makhan Lal of Peer Mitha, Ajay Kumar, son of late Subhash Chander of Dhaki Sarjian, Piyush Gupta, son of Ramchand Abrol of Peer Mitha, Manzoor Hussain, son of Rustom Ali of Peer Mitha, Narendra Singh, son of Suram Singh of Chinore, at present Government Employee CM House, VikramJeet Singh, son of Balbir Singh of Peer Mitha and Manik Gupta, son of Ramdhan Gupta of Pacca Danga.
A case under FIR Number 35/2020 under section 188, 269 and 270 IPC and 3/4 Gambling Act has been registered against the arrested persons at Police Station Peer Mitha and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Peer Mitha Inspector Nayat Ali made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City Satish Kumar, SP City PD Nitya and SSP Jammu Sridhar Patil.
