KATHUA, June 18:The 618th Parkash Divas of Sadguru Kabir will be celebrated on June 20 at All J&K Megh Sudhar Sabha, Old Rehari, here.
This was stated by Narinder Dutt general secretary All J&K Megh Sudhar Sabha while talking to reporters here today.
He said the function will start with a Shoba Yatra which will be taken from MAM Stadium and it will pass via Gummat, Raghunath Bazar, Purani Mandi, Parade, Kacchi Chawni and culminate at Kabir Mandir Rehari in the afternoon.
Mahant Ajay Dass Ji Gaddi Tata Nagar will throw light on the life of Sadguru Kabir, he said, adding the students of the community who got over 90 percent marks in 10th and 12th classes will be honoured on the occasion.
Mr Dutt appealed the State Government employees of the community and Kabir Panthis to keep one day leave on June 20 so that the restricted holiday can be converted into gazetted holiday. He also appealed the other communities to attend the function.
Mr Dutt also made an appeal to the tehsil and block level committees not to celebrate the Jyanti on the same day when the Central and State level functions are being held and appealed all the Kabir Panthis to participate in Shoba Yatra enmass.
Others who attended the press conference included B L Bhagat president of the Sabha, Puran Chand its vice president, Santosh Kumar and M R Puri, joint secretaries, Amar Nath Bhagat, Sham Lal, Sansar Chand etc.
