FIRs registered against 8 shopkeepers in Kathua

KATHUA/SAMBA, July 16: While 59 violators were fined in Samba for not wearing masks, eight shopkeepers were booked in connection with violation of COVID -19 rules in Kathua district today.
According to a official handout enforcing relaxation conditions in the Samba district where people are asked to mandatorily wear the face mask at public places without any exemption as per order issued by DM Samba, 59 persons were booked today by Samba Police and fined them at Rs 500 per person.

In today drive Samba Police while on patrolling in the area, booked a total of 59 violators from different areas of the district for not wearing face mask and charged with fine of Rs 500 from each violator.
The wearing of face masks has been made mandatory for the general public as well as Government employees in district Samba as a measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Samba Police appealed to its citizens to wear mask, strict to all the precautionary measures and follow all relaxation conditions to contain the spread of Corona virus.
The Kathua Police registered FIRs against eight shopkeepers and owners for not closing down their shops in Kathua in view of Corona virus outbreak. The action was taken by Kathua Police in Municipal area. During patrolling Police party found that some shopkeepers did not close their shops beyond the permitted time slots which were clearly violating the COVID-19 rules.
The shop keepers against whom FIRS were registered included Jatinder Singh, S/O Subash Chander of W.No. 06 Kathua, Vivek Malagger, S/O Bodh Raj Malagger of W.No. 01 Kathua, Shashi Verma, S/O Balwant Raj, Welding Shop Kalibari Kathua, Jatinder Kumar S/O Madan Lal R/O W.No. 03 Kathua, Raj Kumar ,S/O Babu Ram of W.No. 01 Kathua, Deepak Gupta, S/O Not Known of Saharnpur A/P Pathania Market Kathua, Pankaj Gupta, S/O Sat Paul of W.No. 03 Kathua and Naresh Kumar, S/O Parkash of Keerian Gandyal A/P Kalibari Kathua.
In this regard, a case FIR No 203/2020 U/S 188/IPC stands registered at Police Station Kathua against the shopkeepers and investigation is going on.
Kathua Police warned the shopkeepers and owners of business units as well as customers to follow the guidelines strictly otherwise similar action may also be taken against them.
