KISHTWAR, Aug 1: To ensure smooth movement of Shri Machail Mata pilgrims, tight security arrangements have been placed in by the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP).
This was stated by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishtwar Sandeep Wazir while interacting with media persons, here today.
He said that the pilgrimage to Shri Mata Machail at Padder started on July 25 and elaborative security arrangements have been made for smooth movement of pilgrims.
Wazir informed that from the starting point Thathri to end point at Machail Mata temple at Padder, heavy deployment of police personnel have been made. Road Opening Party (ROP) and special check points have also been placed in for the pilgrims, he added.
“Security arrangements at langars and in and around the Shri Machail shrine have also been made. Transit camps whether its in Kishtwar, Padder or any other place are also under tight security radar”, SSP stated.
As the road from Kishtwar to Padder is hilly, so he advised the pilgrims to follow the cut off timings, he said, adding that no vehicle will be allowed to move from Kishtwar to Padder and Padder to Kishtwar after 5 pm. For cut-off timings, banners have been installed at various locations including Batote, Kishtwar and at langars also, he added.
SSP requested the pilgrims of Shri Machail Mata to follow the cut off timings as their lives are precious and travelling during night hours through hilly terrain from Kishtwar to Padder or from Padder to Kishtwar can put their lives at risk.
