Governor and the First Lady interacted with about 100 children, accompanying staff and parents, to know about the varied difficulties and challenges faced by the children and the serious impediments faced by the NGOs and institutions which have taken the responsibility of looking after these specially abled children, each of whom requires very particular care.
The staff accompanying the children apprised the Governor about the functioning of both these social organisations and the serious administrative and financial difficulties being faced by them. Governor stressed the crucial importance of the required interventions to build the strengths of these children and equipping them with the skills and confidence required to face the challenges ahead.
Governor lauded the work being done by the Deaf and Dumb School and the Chotay Taray Foundation and assured them that he would have a very early meeting with Sajjad Gani Lone, Minister for Social Welfare to discuss all the extant problems.
