5 injured in attack by wild boar in Thanamandi

RAJOURI, Apr 14: Five persons were today injured in a wild boar attack in Panchayat Lah in Thannamandi Tehsil of district Rajouri.
Reports said a wild boar entered Lah village and attacked the villagers including some minors. The locals came out with lathis for the rescue of children and others and then made the wild boar to flee towards nearby jungle.
The injured have been identified as Ayaz Ali, son of Zakir Hussain; Razia Begum, wife of Mohd Javid, Altaf Hussain, son of Abdul Hussain; Mohd Kabir, son of Ghulam Shah and Mohd Amin, son of Mohd Naseer. All the injured were shifted for medical treatment to Thannamandi hospital and are reported to be under care.
The incident has created fear among the local residents, who have expressed serious concern over the increasing movement of wild animals in the area. They urged the Wildlife Department to take immediate and effective preventive measures to ensure the safety of the public.
While acknowledging that crackers have been provided by the Wildlife Department, locals emphasized that mere distribution is not sufficient and urged the authorities to personally intervene and implement preventive measures on the ground.
