5 drug peddlers arrested with heroin, cannabis

JAMMU, Mar 13: Bahu Fort and Gajansoo Police arrested five drug peddlers along with heroin and cannabis.
As per police sources, a team from Police Station Bahu Fort led by SHO Inspector Deepak Pathania and assisted by ASI Mohammad Hussain and sleuths of Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) during checking at Panama Chowk intercepted Innova car bearing registration number PB07AA-7921.
During checking, police team recovered 70 grams heroin from the possession of two persons travelling in the car and arrested them.
The arrested persons were identified as Devi Dass, son of Swami Raj of District Kathua and Javed Ahmed, son of Ghulam Nabi of Tehsil Mandi, District Poonch.
A case under FIR Number 91/2021 under Section 8/21/22/25/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Border Police Post (BPP) Gajansoo led by SI Lalit Sharma under the supervision of SHO Kanachack Inspector Vishav Partap Singh, SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul and SP Rural Sanjay Sharma laid a naka and intercepted a car bearing registration number JK02BM-0111.
During checking, police team recovered 305 grams cannabis from the possession of three persons travelling in the car and arrested them.
The arrested persons were identified as Janak Raj, son of Bhagat Ram of Ward Number 5 Ghou Manhasan, Ishtaq Ahmed, son of Mushtaq Ahmed of Domana and Rakesh Singh, son of Bhalwan Singh of Ward Number 2 Ghou Manhasan.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Police Station Kanachack and investigation started.
