KATHUA, Jan 11: District Police Samba foiled an attempt to smuggle bovine animals in the jurisdiction of Police Station, Ghagwal by rescuing five bovines.
Acting on reliable information regarding transportation of bovines via Rajpura-Ghagwal link road, a police party of Police Station, Ghagwal laid a vehicle checking naka near Randhwal and intercepted a Mahindra vehicle having registration number PB35Q-7390 moving towards Ghagwal via Rajpura-Ghagwal road. The driver on seeing police party abandoned the vehicle and fled away from the spot.
During checking of the vehicle, five cattle were found laden inside it without any permission. All the cattle were rescued and shifted to safer places. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was seized on the spot.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 06/2021 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started.
