UDHAMPUR, May 25: Forty one persons were injured, some of them critically, in separate road accidents across Udhampur district today.
Thirty persons were injured when a mini-bus, in which they were traveling in, skidded off the road and turned turtle near Koo Nullah in Ramnagar.
Two of the injured, identified as Veena Devi wife of Surinder of Jammu and Rakesh Kumar son of Badri Nath of Sunetar Ramnagar have been referred to Government Medical College Hospital Jammu in view of their critical condition while the others were admitted in District Hospital Udhampur and Sub-district Hospital Ramnagar.
The ill fated minibus, bearing registration number JK14-8985, was on way from Railway Station Roun Domail to Ramnagar when it met with the accident.
Identity of the injured persons, undergoing treatment at District Hospital Ramnagar was established as Kartik Singh (13), son of Surinder Singh of Jammu, Rekha Devi (23) wife of Sanjay Kumar of Sunetar Ramnagar, Yodhveer Singh (14) son of Madan Singh of Pingla Ramnagar, Rahil (8) son of Parkash of Pungla Ramnagar, Kala Sharma (25) son of Yog Raj of R S Pura Jammu, Tilak Raj (28), son of Naresh Kumar of R S Pura, Rula Devi (47), wife of Sham Lal of Koo Nullah, Jyoti Devi (25) wife of Vikram Singh of Resham Ghar Colony Jammu and Priyanka (11), daughter of Satpal of Manpa Udhampur.
Those undergoing treatment at Sub-District Hospital Ramnagar, were identified as Sohan Lal son of Prem Chand of Late, his Nisha, Ravi Kumar son of Jai Krishan of Jammu, Kunti Devi wife of Jai Krishan of Jammu, Sham Lal son of Daya Ram of Ramnagar Pushpa Devi wife Raj Kumar, of Muthi Jammu, Nitish Kumar, son of Raj Kumar of Muthi Jammu, Sham Lal, son of Bishan Dass, of Kunjwani Jammu, Rashmi wife of Manoj Kumar of Krishna Nagar Jammu, Rajni wife of Gajan Singh of R S Pura Jammu, Om Parkash son of Prema of Ramnagar, Anwar Hussain son of Haider Hussain of Ramnagar, Preetam Singh son of Darshan Kumar of Ramnagar, Vinod Kumar son Beli Ram of Ramnagar, Arban Singh son of Kuldeep Singh of Thari, Balbir Kumar of Rathain, Bindiya Devi wife of Romal Singh of Ramnagar , Noor Ahmed son of Hassim Din of Ramnagar and Nimika daughter Sham Lal of Ramnagar.
In a separate road accident, four persons of a family from Bhaderwah were injured when their Alto car collided with a passenger bus near Telli Bhari. The car bearing registration number JK01N-4966, was on its way from Jammu to Bhaderwah when it collided with passenger bus JK14C-2139, which was coming from opposite direction.
Police rushed to the spot and took injured persons to Sub-Hospital Chenani where after first aid doctors referred all of them to District Hospital Udhampur and them GMC Hospital Jammu. They were identified as Sadaf, her husband Shaqeeb Ahmad, Amaar son of Amir Usman and Fazia wife of Amir Usman.
In yet another road mishap, a Maruti 800 car bearing registration number JK14C-2829 rolled down in a gorge near Laddan Power House Udhampur resulting into injuries to four persons. The injured were identified as Bishan Singh son of Suram Singh of Sallain Talab, Bishan Singh’s wife Satish Kumari, their son Subhum Singh and Rajesh Singh son of Sunder Singh.
Three persons were injured when a Wagon R car bearing registration number JK 02X-0779 collided with a truck PB 06F 9791 near Khoon. The injured persons were shifted to PHC Majalta. They were identified as Sunil Sharma son of Davinder Sharma, Rita Devi and her husband Anil Mehta. All are resident of Roop Nagar Jammu.
