38 bovine animals rescued, smuggler held

UDHAMPUR, Nov 5: Foiling yet another attempt of bovine smuggling, Police today rescued 38 animals and arrested one person in this connection,
Based on reliable information, a Police party led by Inspector O P Chib, SHO Rehambal and SI Vikram, I/C PP Tikri, laid a surprise naka on the National Highway near Tikri and intercepted two trucks bearing Registration numbers JK03C-3879 and JK02AD-2817.
In the trucks, Police found 38 bovine animals, which were rescued. Police also arrested one of the two drivers while the other accused managed to give a slip. The accused driver was identified as Manzoor Ahmad of Banihal.
In this connection, a case under Section 188/RPC, 3 PCA has been registered in Police Station Rehambal.
