30 bovines rescued, 5 smugglers arrested

JAMMU, May 24: Thannamandi, Hiranagar and Chadwal police rescued 30 bovine animals and arrested five smugglers.
As per police sources, a team from Thanamandi Police Station headed by SHO Javed Malik intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02AP-6729.
During checking, 17 bovine animals were rescued from the vehicle and two persons were arrested, who have been identified as Zaffar Iqbal, son of Mohammad Shafi, a resident of Kewal Budhal and Mohammad Shafi, son of Kanga, a resident of Kotranka.
A case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Thanamandi Police Station and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Hiranagar Police Station during checking near Dyalachak intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK20A-4382.
During frisking, police team rescued 11 bovine animals and arrested two notorious bovine smugglers namely Shahwaz Shrief, son of Mohammad Sadiq of District Anantnag and Mohammad Qadoos, son of Mohammad Iqbal of Dingamb Hiranagar District Kathua.
A case under FIR Number 63/19 under sections 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Hiranagar and investigation into the case is going on.
In another incident, a team from Chadwal Police Post laid a naka near Seswan Morh and intercepted a Mahindra load carrier bearing registration numbers JK14E-0210.
During checking, police team rescued two bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested one person, who has been identified as Gansham, son of Shonka Ram of Gharota Tehsil Bhalwal, District Jammu.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at concerned police station and investigation started.
