JAMMU, June 8: Jhajjar Kotli, Doda and Bhaderwah police foiled cattle smuggling bids by rescuing 28 bovine animals and arresting two persons.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Jhajjar Kotli Police Station laid a naka at Suketar and intercepted a Srinagar bound truck.
During checking, police rescued 12 cattle from the vehicle and seized it, while the accused driver managed to escape from the spot by taking benefit of the darkness.
A case under FIR Number 51/18 under Section 188 RPC and 3/5 PCA Act has been registered at Jhajjar Kotli Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Jhajjar Kotli Inspector Ajay Singh Chib foiled the cattle smuggling under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Yashbir Singh Slathia and SP Rural Shivdeep Singh Jamwal.
Meanwhile, a team from Doda Police Station rescued 6 cattle and arrested the bovine smuggler, who has been identified as Hamidullaha, son of Kutab Din, a resident of Gadsoo Shiva.
A case under FIR Number 90/18 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Doda Police Station and investigation started.
In another similar incident, a team from Bhaderwah Police Station rescued 10 bovine animals and arrested a cattle smuggler, who has been identified as Yasir Hussain, son of Rehim Ali, a resident of Sharakhi, Tehsil Bhaderwah.
A case under FIR Number 85/18 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PC Act has been registered at Police Station Bhaderwah and investigation started.
