28 bovines rescued, 6 arrested

RAMBAN, Feb 3: Ramban, Dharmkund and Gool police rescued 28 bovine animals and arrested six persons.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Ramban Police Station laid a naka at Shan Palace and Karol and intercepted three Srinagar bound vehicles.
During checking, police rescued 28 bovine animals from the vehicles and seized them.
Meanwhile, a team from Dharmkund Police Station rescued 5 bovine animals and seized the vehicle.
In another similar case, a team from Gool Police Station laid a naka at Tatapani and rescued 4 bovine animals.
Six smugglers identified as Adil Hussain, son of Mohammad Younis of Govindpora, Sadiq, son of Gani of Parnote, Maneer Wani of Karol, Gulzar Ahmed, son of Qamer Din and Ashiq Ali, son of Ghulam Mohammad, both residents of Dalwa and Hakam Shah, son of Yousuf Shah of Varnal have taken into custody for smuggling bovines.
Cases under relevant sections have been registered at Ramban, Dharmkund and Gool Police Stations and investigation started.
Police teams led by SHO Ramban Inspector Vijay Kotwal, SHO Dharmkund Inspector Ajeet Singh and SHO Gool Inspector Javed Ahmed foiled the bovines smuggling bids under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ramban Asgar Malik, Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Anita Sharma.
