UDHAMPUR, Feb 3: Jammu Kashmir SSRB Teach-ers and Masters Association (JKSTMA) held a meeting under the chairmanship of its State President Rakesh Singh and expressed concern over the regularization of contractual lectures.
While speaking, Singh urged Governor not to initiate any move to regularize the contractual lecturers as this decision will be directly against the interest of senior masters who are waiting for their DPC from last so many years.
He while expressing his views on the decision said that it is the right of senior teachers and masters to get promoted on the vacant posts of lecturers through DPC.
Singh demanded to end the system of contractual system of lecturers in School Education Department and filling up of vacant posts by departmental promotion of teachers and masters as this would improve quality of education by providing staff to senior secondary classes.
He demanded from Governor to introduce promotional eligibility test for the promotion of teachers and masters as this would provide more competitive and accountable staff to the department which would be directly beneficial to the students.
Other demands raised by the forum are child care leave to separated and widow female teachers, rise in retirement of teachers to 62 years and hardship allowance to SSRB teachers and masters posted in far flung areas.
