UDHAMPUR, Mar 25: A 3rd batch of poor patients, who were operated free of cost on March 24 at a free eye surgical camp in Rotary Eye Hospital Udhampur, were discharged today.
The free eye surgical camp which started on March 5 is being organized by Rotary Eye Hospital Udhampur in collaboration with District Blindness Control Society and Rotary Club Udhampur.
Dr Chander Parkash, Chief Medical Officer Udhampur, also visited and interacted with the patients. He also analyzed the achievement of the project which is jointly undertaken by Rotary Foundation and Hospital.
The main objective of the camp is to provide gift of sight to the poor patients who have already been screened by the team of Optometrist of Rotary Eye Hospital Udhampur.
23 patients were discharged today after successful treatment by Dr Richa Muldiyar, Ophthalmic Surgeon of Rotary Eye Hospital, Udhampur. The patients who are operated today will be discharged tomorrow.
Dr Ankur Goel, while speaking on the occasion, expressed the need for prevention of avoidable blindness in the service area.
Chairman of Rotary Eye Hospital, Udhampur, DN Sharma, assured the DBCS to organize more such camps in rural area of Udhampur district till the whole of the District is avoidable blindness free.
Members of Rotary Club who attended the function were VS Raja, Manjeet Singh, SS Kerni, Rajendra Sanson, Pritam Kotwal and Col Hargovind Singh.
