JAMMU, Mar 25: Police arrested a motorcyclist along with large quantity of illicit liquor pouches from Anand Nagar, Bohri area, falling under the jurisdiction of Domana police station.
As per police sources, Anti-Vehicle Theft and Recovery (AVTAR) team under operation Chetak laid a naka in Anand Nagar, Bohri area and signaled a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02 BD-7562 to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the biker escaped from the spot. Stinking something fishy, the team chased and intercepted the bike.
During checking, police recovered 54 pouches of illicit liquor and arrested the biker.
The accused has been identified as Daljit Singh alias Goga, son of Harnam Singh of Seri Rakwalan.
He was carrying the illicit liquor pouches to his native village for sale among the people on exorbitant rates.
A case under FIR Number 93/16 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at police station Domana and further investigation of the case is going on.
AVTAR team led by SHO Domana police station Inspector Rajeshwar Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Domana SK Sharma and Additional SP Rural Arun Gupta.
