POONCH, June 15: The Police rescued 22 bovine animals from the clutches of smugglers while foiling smuggling bids in Surankote area of Poonch.
Official sources said that on the direction of SSP Poonch Rohit Baskotra, teams headed by DySP Surankote Tanveer Jeelani, SHO Surankote Insp Niaz Ahmed, I/C Police Post Behramgalla ASI Mahroof Ahmed established nakas at Behramgalla and Bafliaz areas.
During naka checking apprehended two bovine smugglers and seized two vehicles bearing Reg. NOs. JK12B- 0223 & JK03F- 6428 which were on way towards Kashmir. The police seized 22 bovine animals loaded in these vehicles.
Two FIRs 159 & 160 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act have been registered at Police Station Surankote and further investigation started.
