MENDHAR, Sept 25: At least twenty National Conference activists were injured, one of them seriously, when a bus carrying them to Mendhar for a rally, skidded off the road and fell into a nalla near Sakhi Maidan this morning.
The mishap took place at around 10.30 am when the bus was carrying villagers to take part in a rally being organised by National Conference at Mendhar town. Former Minister and senior party leader Dr Mustafa Kamal was to address the rally. The driver lost control on the vehicle and it landed into the nallah.
All the injured party activists were shifted to hospital where some of them were provided first aid. Eleven injured were admitted and one of them was later referred to GMC Hospital Jammu for the specialized treatment. He was identified as Mohd Sadiq, resident of Chhunga village in Mendhar. The bus was on way to Mendhar from Kala Ban area. The police has taken cognizance of the matter as injured persons alleged negligence on the part of driver.
