RAJOURI, Mar 23: The police seized two vehicles loaded with 8 bovine animals in Chingus area this morning but the drivers managed to escape.
Official sources said that police party during Naka at Kallar Chowk, on Nowshera-Rajouri road this morning, intercepted a Tata Mobile vehicle bearing registration No. JK12A/8448 at around 8 am. During search of the vehicle, four cattle were found loaded in it. The driver, however, managed to escape. The police rescued the bovine animals.
Another Tata Mobile vehicle No. JK 02BG/ 8102 was also intercepted at the same place after 15 minutes. The driver parked the vehicle at some distance from the naka and escaped. Four more bovine animals including two calves were being smuggled in it. Chingus police has registered a case in this connection.
