RAJOURI, Sept 1: District Administration conducted a major surprise inspection of all the ration depots across the district to verify distribution of ration, quality and quantity as well as availability of stocks. A total of 319 ration depots were inspected out of which 80 were found to be defaulters in ration distribution and 40 others found closed.
In Tehsil Nowshera out of 32 depots inspected 9 had not distributed ration in last one month and 6 were found closed. In Tehsil Khwas ration was found not distributed by 8 depots out of 28 inspected while no ration stock was available in 10, while 6 out of 28 depots in Kalakote had not distributed ration till date. In Tehsil Rajouri 20 out of 72 ration depots failed to distribute ration on time while 2 were found closed and ration partially distributed by 4 depots. In Koteranka Tehsil out of 47 ration depots 44 were found open and having distributed ration as per timeline while 3 were defaulters.
In Tehsil Thanamandi 30 depots were inspected where 28 had distributed ration as per timeline but 2 were found closed. All 10 ration depots of Tehil Qila Darhal were found open and ration being distributed while sufficient stocks were available.
All 26 Ration depots inspected in Darhal were open and distribution found done as per norms and 180 quintal ration was available in reserve stocks. In all 4 ration depots of Tehsil Siot more than 70% was distributed and no violation found during inspection.
In Manjakote 6 depots were closed out of 10 inspected while in Tehsil Sunderbani out of 18 depots inspected 06 have not distributed ration for last one month. In Tehsil Tryath none of the 08 ration depots inspected were found having distributed ration.
In view of lapses on part of officials of departments two TSOs incharge of Kalakote and Khwas have been placed under suspension while 120 other officials (i/c depots) of department have also been suspended. Meanwhile on account of lapse on his part JE PWD incharge of Koteranka-Khwas road has also been suspended.
