UDHAMPUR, Sept 1: Agitated over no supply of drinking water to Nambla and adjoining villages for the last three months, locals held a protest demonstration against Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department, here today.
The inhabitants of village Nambla, Manmala, Padano and Chang took part in the protest during which villagers raised slogans against PHE authorities. They were demanding regular supply of drinking water. They were also demanding boundary wall around PHE station at village Nambla where a 9- year old girl had drowned in open water tank.
The protest demonstration was led by Jagdish Baru, Sandeep Khajuria, Gopal Krishan, Bandhu Ram, Shiv Lal and Varinder Kumar.
