RAMBAN, July 27: Ramsoo police arrested two truckers and recovered 37 kilograms of poppy straw from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Station Ramsoo led by Annayat Ahmad laid a naka and intercepted a truck bearing registration number PB05W-9196.
During checking, police team recovered 25 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who was identified as Gopi, son of Ramesh Maseem of District Gurdaspur Punjab.
Meanwhile, the team also intercepted one more truck bearing registration number HR55K-1607 and recovered 12 kilograms of poippy straw from it.
The team arrested the driver of the vehicle, who was identified as Sukhvinder Singh, son Karnail Singh of District Gurdaspur Punjab.
Cases under FIR Numbers 75/2020 and 76/2020 under section 8/15 NDPS act have been registered at Police Station Ramsoo and investigation started.
