2 killed as car hits bike

JAMMU, Apr 23: Two persons were killed while another was seriously injured today when a speeding car hit a motor bike in Batehra area of city outskirts.
According to police sources, a speeding car bearing registration number JK02AX-7244 which was on its way from Jammu to Akhnoor, hit a without number bike coming from opposite side on Jammu Akhnoor Road at Batehra.
“The mishap occurred tonight around 9: 30”, they said, adding in the mishap, all the three persons travelling on the bike received serious injuries. They were immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where two of them were declared as brought dead by the doctors while the condition of the third one, who was identified as Som Nath son of Joginder Lal, resident of Chak Bhalwal, was stated to be critical when the last reports came in.
One of the deceased was identified as Bobby Salaria (25) son of Harjeet Singh, resident of Chak Bhalwal while other deceased was yet to be identified. Bodies of both the deceased were shifted to mortuary of the hospital.
In this connection, Kanachak police have registered a case and seized both the vehicles involved in the mishap while efforts were on to nab the absconding car driver, who fled from the spot of crime.
