JAMMU, May 22: Narwal police under Operation Sanjeevani arrested two inter state drug peddlers along with 10 kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a team from Narwal police post apprehended two drug peddlers along with 10 kilograms of poppy straw.
The accused have been identified as Rohit Kumar, son of Ram Singh and Manoj Kumar, son of Sohan Lal, both residents of Rajasthan, at present Chandigarh.
They had brought the consignment from their native area for selling among the youth in Jammu to make them drug addicts, but prompt action by the Narwal police thwarted their nefarious designs and arrested them.
A case under FIR Number 119 /17 under Section 8/20 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against them at Bahu Fort police station and investigation started.
The arrest were made by SDPO East Arun Jamwal and Incharge Narwal police post SI Waseem Mehraj under the supervision of SP South Sandeep Choudhary.
