POONCH, Feb 2: The police today arrested two persons for firing on a youth at Allapir, in Ward No. 12 of Poonch city.
A senior police official said that two youth namely Niaz Ahmed Bhat, son of Mohd Sharief along with his associate friend Javed Iqbal went to the house of Shiraz Ahmed, son of Nazir Hussain at Allapir in ward No. 12 of Poonch city last night and fired upon Shiraz and his friend Nawaz Hussain. Niaz allegedly fired four rounds on them after tiff and then escaped in a car from the spot.
Both Shiraz and Nawaz had miraculous escape as they jumped to safety. They pelted stones on the accused but they managed to escape in WagonR No. JK02AD/4207. Soon after the incident the police party led by SHO Poonch Rakesh Akram rushed to the spot and started search operation for the accused persons. Both the accused persons were nabbed from a hideout today by police party led by SI Kalicharan under the supervision of DySP headquarters Mr Digra. The pistol has been seized and a case under Sections 307, 452, 34 RPC and 3/25 Arms Act registered.
