JAMMU, May 27: Over two dozen huts and several paddy grain dumps were gutted in a massive fire in RS Pura sector.
As per police sources, fire broke out in Kalali Gujjar Basti and spread rapidly due to strong winds which swept parts of Jammu region.
Fire tenders from nearby stations were rushed to douse the flame.
Around half dozen fire tenders were on the job and managed to restrict the fire after night-long operation. 29 huts were gutted along with several paddy grain dumps and a number of cowsheds. Several cattle also got charred in this devastating fire.
No human injury or lass has been reported in the incident, while the exact loss could not be ascertained yet.
RS Pura police has taken cognizance in this regards.
