KATHUA, Dec 5: A girl and a house wife committed suicide by hanging themselves with trees in Ward Number 10 Kathua and village Azizpur in Nagri Parole area of Kathua district today.
According to police the dead body of Anita Rani, 18, daughter of Darshan Kumar of Ward 10 was found hanging with a tree in nearby farm which was about 200 meters away from her residence early this morning.
The domestic problem is stated to be the cause of the extreme step taken by the girl. The dead body of Anita was taken to District Hospital Kathua for postmortem by Police and after that it was handed over to family for cremation. The Kathua Police has registered a case under section 174.
In another suicidal case the dead body of a house wife identified as Reenu Devi, 26, Wife of Ajay Kumar of Azizpur Nagri Parole also in Kathua district was found hanging with a tree nearby her residence this morning.
The body was also shifted by Nagri Parole Police to DH Kathua for postmortem and later it was handed over to family for cremation. The parents of Reenu Devi however protested in front of Police Station Nagri Parole and alleged that their daughter was murdered. They said that their daughter has been first killed and then hanged to a tree to make it a suicidal case.
However the Police in this case has also registered the FIR under Section 174.
Meanwhile a dead body was recovered from Railway track Barwal late last night. The deceased has been identified as Rakesh Kumar, S/o Dev Raj of Ward No 1 Kathua. The cause of his death was not known as yet. The dead body was handed over to family by police after postmortem at DH Kathua this morning for last rites.
The Railway Police Station Govindsar has registered a case under relevant sections of law and started investigation.
