RAJOURI, Feb 18: Two cattle were charred to death after a cattle-shed caught fire in Kotranka (Kandi) area of district Rajouri today.
Official sources said that a massive fire broke out in the cattle-shed of Mohammad Shafi, son of Maha Wali, resident of Khandi Gali, sub-district Kotranka of Rajouri district today due to suspected electrical short circuit.
The fire broke out in the cattle shed around 3 pm today due to a suspected electric short circuit. The land lord saw smoke coming out from the nearby cattle shed and reached there. He saw the shed engulfed in huge flames.
Listening his screams people from the neighbourhood also gathered there and started trying to extinguish the fire on their own. Tehsildar Kotranka Sahil Ali Shah said that by the time people extinguished the fire, his two buffaloes were burnt alive. The Tehsildar said that victim will be provided financial assistance under SDRF.
