562 fresh cases, tally 33776
*Case registered against family for SOP violation

SRINAGAR, Aug 25: Kashmir reported 14 COVID-19 positive deaths today taking the Jammu and Kashmir toll to 655 while 562 fresh cases of Coronavirus were reported in Valley taking the number of cases in J&K to 33,776.
With these fresh deaths, the toll in Kashmir has crossed 600 mark.
An 87 year old man from Chadoora in Nagam area of Budgam district who was admitted to SKIMS Srinagar on Aug 15 died today.
A 46 year old man from Sumbal area of Bandipora district who was admitted to SKIMS Soura on Aug 20 died today.
A 52 year old man from Anchar area of Soura in district Srinagar who was admitted to SKIMS Soura on Aug 15 died today.
A 45 year old CRPF man from 162 Battalion at Humhama Budgam who was admitted in SKIMS Soura on Aug 19 died today.
A woman from Maisuma area of Lal Chowk in Srinagar admitted on Aug 17 to SMHS hospital with bilateral pneumonia died today.
An 86 year old man from Safapora area of Ganderbal who was admitted to SKIMS Bemina on Aug 16 died today.
A 40 year old woman from Ganderabal who was admitted to SKIMS Soura on Aug 16 with bilateral pneumonia and underlying ailments died today.
A man from Shallagam area of Tangmarg in Baramulla district admitted to SMHS hospital on Aug 19 died today. He was suffering from pneumonia and had underlying ailments.
Another man from Khan Sahib area of Budgam who was admitted to SMHS with bilateral pneumonia died today.
A COVID patient from Patch Kadal Kawdara in Srinagar died today.
A 55 year old woman from Rathson area of Beerwah in district Budgam admitted to SMHS Srinagar on Aug 23 died today.
A 62 year old man from Rawalpora area of Srinagar admitted to Chest Diseases Hospital in Srinagar on Aug 22 died today.
A 70 year old man from Kupwara district admitted to SMHS hospital in Srinagar on Aug 10 with bilateral pneumonia died today.
A 66 year old woman from Monghal village of district Kulgam who was admitted to SKIMS Soura Srinagar on Aug 20 died today.
Kashmir valley today reported 562 fresh cases of COVID-19 taking the number of cases to 33,776.
Those who tested positive today include 208 from Srinagar, 29 Baramulla, 56 Pulwama, 49 Budgam, 44 Anantnag, 18 Kulgam, 6 Shopian, 55 Kupwara, 66 Bandipora and 31 from Ganderbal.
Of the total cases 33,776 in J&K, 26,363 are from Kashmir.
The total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached 26,363 including 19,818 recoveries.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 7,544 including 5,957 from Kashmir division. With 389 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 25,594 which is 75.77 percent of the total cases.
Srinagar district alone has 8,357 positive cases which is more than the total number of positive cases in Jammu division where total cases are 7,413
As per officials figures, 8,357 positive cases including 200 deaths and 6,703 recoveries are from Srinagar, 2,678 including 98 deaths and 2,006 recoveries are from Baramulla, 2,386 including 1,883 recoveries and 46 deaths are from Pulwama, 2,207 including 1,587 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Budgam, 2,146 including 46 deaths and 1,630 recoveries are from Anantnag, 1,868 including 1,571 recoveries and 31 deaths are from Kulgam, 1,637 cases including 1,519 and 27 deaths are from Shopian, 1,894 including 1,246 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Kupwara, 1,952 including 1,033 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Bandipora and 1,238 including 643 recoveries and 18 deaths are from Ganderbal.
And Police registered a case against the relatives of a coronavirus victim at Batpora area of Srinagar, for violating COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) during funeral of the deceased here last week.
Police filed an FIR against relatives of COVID-19 victim who died last week at SMHS hospital.
The next of kin of the deceased not only gathered in large numbers on the funeral of the deceased but also pelted stones on ambulances and other vehicles deputed with the team of health officials.
Police registered a case (under FIR number 79/2020 under Section 147, 188, 427 IPC at Police Station Kralpora) and investigation was set into motion to ascertain facts.
It may be in place to mention that the deceased from Batpora Kralpora, was admitted at SMHS hospital on August 23rd after being diagnosed with COVID-19. He passed away next day.
The dead body of the deceased was brought to his home in an ambulance, by the health authorities for burial purposes, as per the guidelines laid down by the Government. However, the relatives of the deceased gathered in a large number on the funeral of the deceased thereby violating prescribed COVID guidelines.
The relatives of the deceased besides violating protocol, damaged an ambulance and a Tata Sumo vehicle.
