13 bovine animals rescued, 2 smugglers held

KATHUA, Nov 2: Tightening the noose of bovine smugglers in Kathua, a team of Police Station, Lakhanpur (Kathua) rescued 13 bovine animals which were loaded in truck mercilessly.
As per reports today a police team of Police Station, Lakhanpur headed by Inspector, Sanjeev Singh Chib, SHO Lakhanpur during Naka/vehicle checking at NHW Bye-Pass road Lakhanpur intercepted a truck bearing Registration No. PB13AR-3146 coming from Punjab towards Srinagar.
During checking of the vehicle, 13 bovines were found laden inside the vehicle, which were being transported illegally without any permission. All the bovines were rescued and shifted to safer place.
The accused found involved in the commission of crime namely Ranjeet Singh, S/o Babu Singh R/o village Channo tehsil Bhawanigarh district, Sangrur and his associate namely Ravvijaya S/o Savariya R/o Bahskar Ganj (U.P) were arrested by police on spot.
The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was also seized. In this regard, a case FIR No. 96/2020 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered against the said accused at PS Lakhanpur and investigation initiated.
