JAMMU, Nov 2: The dead body of a missing youth was recovered today from the bank of River Chenab in Jourian area of Akhnoor.
“The deceased was identified as Abhimanyu Gupta son of Rakesh Gupta of Rehari Colony, Jammu,” a police official said. He said the deceased was missing since October 25 and his missing complaint stands registered in police post Sarwal.
The official said that the dead body of the youth was recovered this morning from the bank of River Chenab at Chak Kirpalpur (Jourian). “After conducting photography and videography of the crime scene, the body was shifted to SDH Akhnoor and handed over to its legal heirs after postmortem conducted by a board of doctors,” he added.
He said that Jourian police had initiated inquest proceeding in this connection to ascertain the reason of death, though prima facie it appears to be suicide case.
