Kashmir reports 503 fresh +ve cases

SRINAGAR, July 21: As the spike in COVID-19 related deaths continue in Kashmir, 12 people died here today taking the number of such deaths in Jammu and Kashmir to 266 while 503 new COVID-19 infections including 51 CRPF, six BSF and 9 Army personnel and 134 migrant labourers were reported taking overall tally of cases to 15158 in J&K.
An official said that five deaths occurred at SKIMS, four at SMHS hospital while one each was reported from SKIMS Bemina and Chest Diseases hospital Srinagar.
A 96-year-old man from Pattan in Baramulla district died today two days after he was admitted to CD hospital Srinagar. He was suffering from multiple ailments including hypertension, Type-2 diabetes, chronic kidney disease, COPD (Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) and Dementia. He suffered cardiac arrest and was declared dead this morning.
A 74-year-old man from Rawalpora died at SKIMS Bemina today. He was suffering from B/l Covid pneumonia. He developed cardio respiratory arrest and died this evening.
An 85-year-old male from Sopore who was suffering from bilateral pneumonia and was admitted to SMHS hospital on July 18 died today.
A 65-year-old man from Sangrama in district Baramulla who he was suffering from encephalopathy and bilateral pneumonia and was admitted to hospital on July 17 died today.
A COVID-19 positive BSF man from 40th Battalion based at Kupwara who was admitted to SMHS hospital yesterday with bilateral pneumonia died today.
A 60 year old woman from Budgam who was admitted to CD hospital on 17th of July with bilateral pneumonia died this morning. Her body was kept at SMHS mortuary and she tested positive for COVID-19 this afternoon.
A 54-year old man from Fateh Kadal area of Srinagar was admitted to CD hospital with bilateral pneumonia yesterday and he died today.
A man from Parray Pora area of Barzulla in Srinagar who was admitted to the hospital on 18th of July died today. He was suffering from bilateral pneumonia.
Others who died include 70-year-old woman from Lalbazar Srinagar, 50-year-old from Mirbazar Kulgam, 43-year-old man from Parigam and 85-year-old man from Papcha area of Bandipora
With these deaths, 264 people including 246 from Kashmir and 20 from Jammu have died so far in COVID-19 related cases.
Kashmir today reported 503 new COVID-19 infections including 51 CRPF, six BSF and 9 Army personnel, taking the overall tally of cases to 15158 in J&K. They include 134 migrant labourers who work in brick kilns and their samples were taken at Lower Munda.
Srinagar reported 213, Baramulla 28, Kulgam 39, Shopian 3, Anantnag 26, Kupwara 47, Pulwama 43, Budgam 83, Bandipora 14 and Ganderbal 6 cases.
An official said that SKIMS Soura virology laboratory processed 2132 cases today and 180 tested positive including 26 CRPF personnel, 19 returnees, 49 from Srinagar, 3 Anantnag, 14 Bandipora, 61 Budgam, 1 Baramulla and three Army personnel.
An official at Chest Diseases Hospital in Srinagar said that 1105 samples were processed at virology laboratory of the hospital and 186 tested positive. They include 9 pregnant women from, three Army personnel, three police men from Anti-Corruption Bureau Srinagar and DPL Baramulla, three BSF jawans from 162 Batallion Kupwara, three healthcare professionals from Government Dental College Srinagar and two doctors from SMHS, 80 people from Srinagar, 23 from Pulwama, 30 from Baramulla and 46 from Kupwara.
The other positive cases were reported from Gurgaon private laboratories in Haryana.
