117th Jayanti of Swami Lakshmanjoo celebrated with religious fervor, gaiety

JAMMU, May 5: The 117 Jayanti of Shivacharya Swami Lakshmanjoo Maharaj was celebrated with religious fervor and gaiety at Kashmir Shaiva Institute Mahinder Nagar, Canal road here, today amid chanting of Gurustuti and Guru Bajans.
Hundreds of devotees drawn from different parts of country thronged the venue of the function to participate in the celebrations and pay obeisance to the great Shivacharya of Kashmir and to invoke his blessings.
On the occasion, a Kashmiri version of Shree Tantarlok as explained by late Krishen Chand Pandit an ardent devotee of Swami Ji was released by Phoola Ji Pandit, wife of Late Krishan Chand Pandit along
with trustees of KSI including Tosha Raina, M L Hangloo , Manesh Bhat and Anil Bakshi. A special edition of the Malini was also released by the senior devotees K L Warikoo, Pran Nath Razdan, Tej Krishan Koul, Rajinder Razdan along with Trustees of Kashmir Shaiva Institute.
After Guru Puja Prashad was distributed among the devotees.
A KSI handout issued later said Swami Lakshmanjoo was the last living master in the glorious Guru Shishya lineage of Kashmir Shaivism. He was a rare jewel having profound and deep understanding of philosophy and practices of Kashmir Shaivism. He spent his entire lifetime teaching the mystical tenets of Trika philosophy of Kashmir Shaivism to the seekers from all over the globe and was considered as the Abhinavgupta of modern times.
The handout further said Swami Ji’s contribution in the spread of Kashmir Shaiva philosophy is unmatched and has made this philosophy as most sought after in the Globe.
The birthday celebrations were also held at Ishbar Nishat, Srinagar, in Kashmir Valley, Sarita Vihar, New Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir Sabha, Salt Lake City Kolkata, Kashyap Bhawan Khargar, Mumbai and Kashmir Bhawan, Jayanagar, Bangalore.
