UDHAMPUR, Jan 30: Udhampur Police today arrested two inter-state narcotic smugglers and recovered 11 kg poppy straw from a Punjab bound truck at Jakhani Chowk.
The poppy straw was packed in a plastic bag loaded in the truck, bearing registration number PB02EA-7027, which was stopped by the Police naka party, headed by SHO Udhampur. Inspector Chaman Gorkha.
Driver of the truck, identified as Devander Singh, son of Prem Singh of Amritsar, Punjab and his associate Sahib Singh, son of Bakshi Singh of Amritsar, Punjab, were arrested on the spot.
In this regard, a case FIR number 34/2022, under section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered in PS Udhampur and further investigation is underway.
