UDHAMPUR, Feb 21: The police rescued 11 bovine animals at Jakheni and Flata area of Rehmbal and arrested three persons for smuggling cattle to Kashmir.
Giving details SSP Udhampur, Rajiv Pandey said that based on reliable information, Police party from Police Station Udhampur led by Inspector Vijay Singh Choudhary- SHO, under the supervision of Rajinder Singh Katoch ASP and DySP Rohit Chadgal laid a naka at Jakheni Chowk, on National Highway intercepted a Tata Mobile vehicle bearing registration number JK02AL- 9296 for checking.
During search of the vehicle, four bovine animals were found loaded and being transported without any valid permission. All the bovine animals were seized and the accused driver namely Mohd Hanief son of Mushtaq Ahmed of Gandoh, Doda along with one Mohd Fareed, son of Shah Mohd of RS Pura, Jammu were arrested. A case FIR No. 89/20 U/S 188IPC, 3PCA Act has been registered at Police Station, Udhampur and further investigation was in progress.
In yet another case, Police Party from Police Station Rehmbal led by Insp Virender Gupta under the supervision of DySP Rohit Chadgal laid another naka at Flata Chowk on Highway for checking of vehicles.
During naka checking police party intercepted another Tata mobile vehicle, bearing registration number JK14A/ 1885 for checking. During search of said vehicle, seven bovine animals were found loaded in it. All the animals were rescued and the accused driver namely Sheeda, from Bali Nallah was arrested on the spot. A case FIR No. 23/2020 U/S 188 IPC,3PC Act has been registered against them.
