Zulfkar inspects food stores, sale depots

RAJOURI, Sept 30: Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department and Tribal Affairs, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali today paid surprise visit to  various  food stores and sale depots  in Kalakote area besides interacting with  public and  officers of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department to have appraisal  of the overall functioning of the department in the area.
The Minister during his surprise visits to the food store at Balli, Kalakote gave directions to place Area Inspector, Legal Metrology Department under suspension for his dereliction in duty and sought explanation from the department officials for delay in supply of ration on the occasion of Eid. He strictly impressed upon them to ensure transparency in the process of disbursement of ration besides issuing instructions for properly checking pilferages if any. He also directed them for maintaining proper records at every store.
Later, Minister interacted with the public to have feedback from them regarding the overall functioning of the department in the district. The Minister said that he will not compromise on the quality of foodgrains as the same is directly related with the human health. He issued instructions to the officials of CA&PD to ensure installation of complaint boxes and directed them to display boards and proper rate lists in the stores.
While checking the attendance at District hospital, Rajouri, the Minister directed doctors and para medical staff to remain present in the hospital as per the duty roaster so as to provide round the clock health care facilities to the patients.
Taking into consideration the complaints made by the patients regarding the distribution of blankets to them, the Minister directed Medical Superintendent to set things right at priority.
Meanwhile, during surprise visit to Govt Gujjar & Bakerwal Girls Hostel gave directions for disengagement of six temporarily engaged employees who were   found unauthorisedly    absent from the duty.
