Zinc futures marginally up on spot demand, overseas cues

NEW DELHI, June 14:  Zinc futures prices today edged up by 0.28 per cent to Rs 107.40 per kg after speculators enlarged positions amid a firming trend overseas and rising demand in spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in June edged up by 30 paise, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 106.10 per kg with a business turnover of 606 lots.
The metal for delivery in July gained 30 paise, or 0.28 per cent, to trade at Rs 107.40 per kg with a business turnover of 21 lots.
Marketmen said besides improved demand in the spot market, firming trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange after better-than-expected US retail sales and jobs data boosted the outlook for demand mainly supported the upside in zinc futures prices. (PTI)
