NEW DELHI, June 8: Zinc futures prices today edged up by 0.11 per cent to Rs 137.85 per kg after speculators built up positions amid a rising trend in the spot market on solid demand even as the metal weakened overseas.
At Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in July edged up 15 paise, or 0.11 per cent, to Rs 137.85 per kg with a business turnover of 6 lots.
The metal for delivery in June rose 10 paise, or 0.07 per cent, to Rs 137.20 per kg in a business turnover of 204 lots.
Traders said fresh positions created by speculators on the back of improved demand in the spot market helped zinc futures trade a tad higher, but metal’s weakness overseas restricted gains. (PTI)
