Zangtrai-a ladies festival celebrated with fervour, gaiety

JAMMU, Mar 31: The Zangtrai-a ladies festival falling on the third day of Navratra was celebrated with great fervour and gaiety by Kashmiri Pandits across Jammu today.
Magnanimous function was organized at K. P Sabha in this regard today. The day is also dedicated to Maa Chanderghanta.
The large number of ladies along with their families participated in the function.
Dr. Meenakshi Kilam was the chief guest over the function and it was presided over by K. K. Khosa, president of Sabha. Renowned Vocalist, Dr. Deepali Wattal enthralling the audience with her melodious devotional songs.
Khosa desired for greater and responsible role of community women folk in transforming the community into a model society.
Others who graced the occasion were Ashok Braroo, Purshotam Dadeechi president Sanathan Dharam Sabha and the Executive Members of Sabha.
The programme was conducted by Dr. Sujata Sathoo. S. L. Bagati general secretary presented the vote of thanks.
Another function was organised by Kashmiri Sahayak Samiti Trikuta Nagar at Sahik Samiti Bhawan. A large number of devotees attended the function. BJP general secretary, (Org) Ashok Koul was the chief guest. Koul interacted with the gathering and extended his heartiest greetings and best wishes to them. He also threw light on the significance of the festival.
He prayed that the year ahead brings happiness, joy and fulfilment of all good desires and illuminate their journey with lights of hope for a better future.

Zangtrai celebrations were organised by the Ramakrishna Shiksha Kendra ,Shopian in collaboration with Tirthraj Kapalmochan Sanstha Shopian at Sanskriti Bhawan, Aaap Shamboo road, Roop Nagar with religious fervour and gaiety.
A large number of KP women, children and members of the community participated. On this occasion Som Nath Pandit, a well known religious figure and saint was the chief guest. While blessing the devotees he said, ” It is the path of divine that will heal all the wounds and brings prosperity and paves the way for cosmic realisation.
Dr.Mahesh Kaul, a scholar said, KPs are the exponents of the Kathak School of Krishan Yajuerveda and follow the Laugakshi Graha Sutras that defines their place consciousness and Sanskrit aesthetics.
The function was presided over by Piaray Lal Tickoo, an eminent person from Shopian. Soulful Bhajans and leelas were sung by Pawan and his party.
Traditional Zangtrai gifts were distributed to the ladies on the occasion and the prasad was also served.
Zangtrai, was observed at the Bhagawaan Gopinathji Ashram, Udaiwala, Bohri also.
Anapurna Langoo was the chief guest on the occasion who was introduced by Dr Opinder Krishan Bhat. The programme started with paying obeisance to Bhagawaanji which was followed by Guru-Vandana. The chief guest was decorated with a Shawl on this occasion by Jai Kishori Patwari and Secretary of the Trust. Hundreds of ladies participated in the function who paid obeisance at the lotus feet of the Master.
Sharika Peeth Sanstha, Subash Nagar led by its president M K Jalali also celebrated the function.
Artists of repute Kailash Mehra, Shanti Lal Sid, Ravi Bhan and others presented melodious devotional songs on this occasion.
Dr. Opendra Krishen Bhat conducted the proceedings of the programme. The functions were held in various Ashrams of Bhagawaan Ji in India and abroad.
As a ritual, a small packet of salt and Rs. 5/- each were presented to ladies as a token of love and Prasad from Bhagawaanji.
