Yuvtarang enters sixth day

JAMMU, Oct 22: Yuvtarang 2019, the mega literary and cultural festival organized by Dean Students Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu entered sixth day of Kalanjali (Performing Arts) segment with four events-creative dance, group dance folk, classical dance solo and Indian group song witnessing massive participation of students from Constituent Colleges and PGI Schools Cluster University of Jammu.
Prof Bhopinder Singh, Dean School of Engineering and Technology and Dr Geetanjali A Rana, Dean Humanities and Liberal Arts graced the prize distribution ceremonies.
Dr Twinkle Suri, Dean Students Welfare informed that the musical euphoria presented by the students is an effort to showcase their creative talent and motivate them to excel in national and international events.
Eminent among those present were Prof Archana Koul, Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee, Cluster University of Jammu, Dr Banpreet Kour, Prof Sunil Uppal, Associate Deans, Dr Devinder Sharma and Dr Geetanjali Rajput, Assistant Deans, Students Welfare, Dr Davinder Kour, Cultural Coordinator, Prof Aekta Gupta, Convener Cultural Committee (GCW) and Dr Surjit Kour, Co-Convener, Cultural Committee GCW Gandhi Nagar.
In Creative Dance, Group Dance Folk and Classical Dance Solo, Prof VK Kohli, Dr Priya Dutta (IMFA) and Anjali Sharma (Doordarshan) were the adjudicators. Prof Jasmeet Kour, Brij Mohan and Surinder Manhas were the jury members for group song Indian.
A mesmerizing dance fiesta giving a glimpse of Indian Folk Dance forms like Lavani, Rajasthani, Gujarati and Kashmiri by the students of the University electrified the ambience of the auditorium with loud applause from audience and students.
In Creative Dance, Komal Singh Payal from GCW Gandhi Nagar bagged the 1st prize, Akanksha from School of Sciences and Rahat Abrol from School of Social Sciences clinched 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively. In Group Dance Folk GGM Science College won the 1st prize, GCW Gandhi Nagar bagged the 2nd prize while School of Social Sciences and GCOE shared 3rd position.
In Classical Dance Solo, Arushi Gupta from School of Social Sciences clinched the Gold Medal while Shivani and Shaheen Choudhary from GCW Gandhi Nagar bagged Silver and Bronze medals respectively.
In Group Song Indian, GCW Gandhi Nagar bagged the Gold whereas MAM College and GGM Science College lifted the Silver and Bronze medals respectively.
The programme was anchored by Arushi, Aarya, Shalini and Sanskriti from GCW Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
