SAMBA, Aug 10: The youth of the border area of Rajpura tehsil in Sub Division Ghagwal today staged a strong protest demonstration against the Revenue Department in front of tehsil office Rajpura regarding hurdles being created by officials in timely issuance of Domicile certificates.
A large number of youth of village Rajpura and its adjoin areas gathered outside the tehsil office Rajpura. They raised slogans against the officers of the Department. They expressed resentment against the tehsildar and alleged that it has been more than a month since they submitted their Domicile files, but till date the certificates have not been issued by the concerned Department. Whenever they go to the Tehsil office and ask the officials, they use avoiding tactics saying that the file has not been received yet and come after two days.
The youth said that no action was taken even after filing the complaint online. They demanded the District Development Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria to set a time limit for issuing Domicile certificates so that people can get rid of the problems faced by them.
Many youth from the border villages took part in this demonstration in which Sahil Verma, Gaurav Sharma, Rohit Sharma, Kanav Sharma and others participated.
