JAMMU, Oct 2: All J&K Youth OBC Mahasabha activists took out a Mashal protest rally in the winter capital city here this evening.
The members of united forum of different castes and communities under the banner of All J&K Youth OBC Mahasabha assembled at Ambphalla Chowk here this evening and started torch light procession towards New Plot. They were carrying banners depicting demands of providing 27 % reservation to the OBCs. They also raised slogans in support of their demands.
After passing through New Plot, Rodian Wali Chhapri, Tali Morh, Old Janipur, they reached at Main Stop Janipur and held demonstration for some time. They also raised slogans against Cong-NC Coalition Government in the State for ignoring the OBCs. Several leaders addressed the gathering and criticized the Government for framing Reservation Act 2004 and reservation rules vide SRO 294 of 2005 and termed it as joke with the OBCs. They strongly demanded implementation of Mandal Commission report in the State.
Main speakers in the rally included Mohd Yaseen, Arjit Kumar, Mohd Rafiq, Vishal Choudhary, Abdul Qadir, Rohit Verma, Sunny Mehra, Bunty Mehra, Ayodhya Kumar, Dr Harjit, R L Chargotra, Kartar Chand, Kasturi Lal Basotra, Vaishno Dutt Dogra, B L Choudhary and others.
