MENDHAR, July 12: The police arrested a youth hailing from Thera Topa village of Mendhar for committing alleged rape on a minor girl and making her pregnant.
A police spokesman said that action was taken after the parents of the girl moved to the local court and sought directions for the action against alleged accused, Mohd Shakeel (22), son of Shakoor Din, resident of Thera Tappa. The court directed the SHO to arrest and accused and book him under relevant sections for the offence.
Accordingly, the police registered a case FIR No. 119/ 2017 under Section 376 RPC against the accused and arrested him today. The girl is pregnant for the last five months. She used to graze her cattle in the nearby fields at the village and the youth was sexually exploiting her for the last over 6-7 months fiding opportunity there. Further investigation was in progress.
