JAMMU, Nov 3: A youth was killed this morning on the spot when the scooty he was going on was hit by a train in Bajalta area of city outskirts while he was crossing the railway track.
According to a police spokesperson, Deepak Choudhary (25) son of Ramesh Choudhary, a resident of Khour in Akhnoor Tehsil of Jammu district (at present living in Toph Sharkhania area of city outskirts), was crossing the railway track riding on his scooty bearing registration No JK02BG-8139 at Bajalta when he came in contact with AC Special Train, which was on its way from Jammu to Katra.
In the mishap, the youth was killed on the spot. His body was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where after conducting autopsy it was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites.
A case in this connection has been registered at police station GRP Jammu and further investigations are underway.
